Super Pippo to the rescue – Make the most of your superpowers

P1010555

I couldn’t resist taking a photo of Goofy sitting in a Palermo shop window. Italians call this adorable but frustrating Disney character ‘Pippo’.

In addition to sharing similar names, I have a real soft spot for Pippo as he is perennially distracted and disaster-prone – but somehow everything works out okay in the end.

At one point in his illustrious career [get it?], Pippo developed super powers reminiscent of Superman after eating peanuts contaminated by a weird meteor.

Super Pippo’s red onesie and blue cape somehow hide this superhero’s real identity without the need for a Zorro-style mask. Unfortunately, his super powers tend to wear off at inopportune moments.

I discovered him years ago when I bought a second hand copy of an old Walt Disney comic to help me learn Italian.

If you’ve never seen Super Pippo in action, watch this amusing short film that perfectly illustrates his serendipitous approach to crime fighting! (here)

Do you have any superpowers that you could be developing and using to greater advantage?

This is my second post in a Five Photos/Five Stories blog challenge that reached me courtesy of Sandy at Hoarder Comes Clean. The rules are: “Post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or a short paragraph and each day nominate another blogger for the challenge.”

No nomination today – just a recommendation to check out a great post by Ardys at Ardysez advising us all to identify our own superpowers in case there is something that we can do better than other people that we are not making the most of (here).

Tomorrow’s photo: Superlatives.

  1. Hehe, can’t help but love something called Super-Pippo. Thanks Pip!

  2. I’m loving Goofy’s onesie – I wonder if it has a drop seat? Thanks for taking up the challenge. I got interrupted on mine, must get back to it soon… Sandy
