I have no idea if this cafe in Trastevere, Rome sells healthy ‘superfood’ or unhealthy ‘fastfood’ as it was closed. I suspect the latter given the speed at which Superman appears to be shovelling down this mountain of (lentil?) burgers.

This is the first in a Five Photos/Five Stories blog challenge that reached me courtesy of Sandy at Hoarder Comes Clean. The rules are:
“Post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or a short paragraph and each day nominate another blogger for the challenge.”
I decided this was a great chance to show off a few snaps from my trip to Italy earlier this year. Although not required as part of the challenge, I came up with a theme to help me select photos from the thousands that I took.
My next four posts will be based around words beginning with ‘super’ that are almost identical in Italian. Still to come are:
- Super Pippo
- Superlatives
- Superstition
- Superficial.
Each day, I will nominate another blogger to participate in the challenge.
Today’s nomination is Rochelle at Unwilling Expat who shares lots of interesting photos and stories about her life in Sicily.

Well chosen words Pip, can’t wait to see the photos attached. Love the ‘mangiamo’ in the upper right corner of the Superman image.
Thanks Ardys. ‘Mangiamo’ is the name of the sandwich bar. I’m pleased it was closed or I wouldn’t have seen Superman.
